Taking An Interest

Saves The Fallen

Copyright 1-2-2018

Steve Lake

There are those among us

Half of a ghost in transformation

Becoming less

Capable of being more

Tied to both worlds

They falter

At times they succeed

Looking for a decision of what to be

No longer do they live with us fully

Yet gravity binds them from their departure

No longer marching to society's drum

Making every step a misstep of bum

They struggle in understanding

They vie for friendship alone

Their direction is in conflict

Not held to a standard to atone

Upon bended knee in solitude

Their lips cry to God and man

Begging for forgiveness

Just trying to understand

No truth to yield answers

The sun and moon flee from their chase

The hands of time tease them into late

All keeping them out of phase

Their reality shunned by man

Others alike repel no help

Putting two of them together only guarantees

Not one but both will fail

If one could slow time

Stepping into their world being sublime

Taking self interest off of self

Using that interest on someone else

Interest alone saves the fallen

Filling their purpose to the brim

Shading them from transparent

Easing their ghostly sins

Being a mentor to a stranger

A third hand to aid in their struggle

A positive thought for direction

A kick in the ass as punctuation

Simple as a listen

Simple as a talk

Simple as a hug

A welcome back taught

Another fallen is saved!
