Dedication

Life is the most amazing journey. When you are fortunate enough, blessed enough, to take that journey with your soul-mate it goes from being amazing to the most B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L, loving, blessed, and sometimes confrontational embrace with destiny. One of the things I love most about you is your ability to see through me, to the real me. I have spent a great majority of my life mastering the art of quitting. You have always been an inspiration to me having fortitude to hang in and become a better version of myself.

Though I may not always have the words to ease your mind or take away the pain you heroically deal with daily; I want you to know I love you. You are my blessing. I dedicated this book to my wife Tammie who is my Blessing; A woman who looked through a cloud of chaos and managed to find the Beauty Found in the Storm.  The strength of my drive has always been powered by the belief she entrusts in me. Most people are so naïve they can only see beauty in its physical persona; never truly grasping the depths of beauty, enough to understand the true face of beauty is found in the human soul.

Introduction

Success is a finicky word that could quite possibly be defined differently by every person you ask. Some may define success by the material wealth they have obtained in life. Others might define it by their quality of life such as: spending time with family and being able to just enjoy the life they live. My standard of defining success has many influencers demonstrating some simple yet effective truths.  These truths are rooted in love compassion, and resilience. I have watched these three characteristics masterfully demonstrated setting a foundation to my ever-evolving reality. “The Strength of your character can create a foundation strong enough for you to build a legacy on,”

My first example in building my definition of success was defined in watching the love of Al & Leanetta Moye. Their love of people empowers the lives they touch to believe in a world of possibilities no matter any perceived limitation.

My second success-defining example comes from the union of Reginald & Millicent York; two professionals both driven and focused with a love and dedication worthy of the success moniker. The love found in their union exemplifies success inspiring a legacy of generational empowerment through their unions of love.

My third example is found in the heart and soul of Black America. Their enduring resiliency defies all logic. The ability to take the adversities thrust upon them and create life demonstrates a level of resourcefulness that has dumbfounded adversaries for centuries. Review stories of Black American History and one unspoken constant is echoed over and over again, resiliency!

Greatness

Dreaming of a world lit by Synergy,

Driven perpetually towards success,

Creating harmony as a continuous residual byproduct,

Minds Planting solutions of plenty,

Reaping the ripest Juiciest fruits, the imagination can grow,

Creating nations of human prosperity

Concretely Colorfully,

Absent abstract Human manipulation,

Life blossoms into its divine reality?

Purpose!

Chapter 1 Success

Success is a measure most accurately counted by the lives you positively impact than the material wealth you gain. Success creates an inner richness that drives and empowers your empowerment of others. Wealth can and often is a residual by product of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

Success is a finicky word that could quite possibly be defined differently by every person you ask. Some may define success by the material wealth they have obtained in life. While others might define it by their quality of life such as: spending time with family and being able to just enjoy their life minus the complications that always seem to cloud enjoyment.

My own standard of defining success has many influencers demonstrating some simple yet effective truths.  These truths are rooted in compassion, love, and resilience. I have watched these three characteristics masterfully demonstrated setting a foundation to my ever-evolving reality.

My first defining example of success comes from watching the love of Al & Leanetta Moye. Their love of people empowers the lives they touch to believe in a world of possibilities no matter any perceived limitation. They have both dedicated their lives and their love to ensuring people see their own personal real-world value. As a teacher Mrs. Moye dedicated more than 30 years to mentoring the young impressionable lives of our youth. Mr. Moye, dedicated 30 plus years, however doing a different type of service. He became an ordained minister.

My second success-defining example comes from the union of Reginald & Millicent York; two professionals both driven and focused with a love and dedication worthy of the success moniker. The love found in their marriage exemplifies success inspiring a legacy of generational empowerment through their unions of love.

-Death is the only finality where failure exist and I don't plan on dying without a fight! As long as I can take a breath the possibilities of my dream exist as a probable reality. -Author Eric McNeil-

THINKING

Life is easy, It’s the fight that’s hard,

every time I see this picture,

A volcano, I think of this moment,

inside your soul passion yearns,

So amazing,

Awaking Life’s discovery!

A solar storm waiting to flare Pure intensity,

Yielding the molten dream of Greatness!

Life’s Energy in its purest form,

your lifetime of passion unlocked inside your thoughts,

Free your dream, your mind will follow,

A lifetime of passion THINKING,

Eruption.

The Human Imagination Necessitates Knowledge Inspiring Needed Growth!

Resiliency

Sounds permeate the dark, Hearts pounding as fear ignites the spark. Outside chaos abounds, Total anarchy resounds. Set off for the goal of justice, Fueled by generations of injustice.

Identifying a nations transgression, Reflecting on years of systematic oppression. Edification being the explanation, Descendants of slavery being the realization. Socially denied my positive historical face, Heritage of my truth erased.

Out of truth comes sovereignty, That unconditional surrender to authority. Subconsciously my mind is free, Free to purge the falsification laced in American History. Identify inaccuracy, Recognize accurately. Educate factually,

Delivering my people immortality. Self-worth becomes a revelation, Habitation becomes jubilation. Occupation replaces stagnation, Truth is given without expectation. Shots fired killing the judgment of assumption, Forward thinking becomes autonomous.

Innovation takes hold of the nation; Racial ascension reaches affirmation. Equality becomes more than a proclamation, Delivering my people to a place of total elation.

Confinement

Souls cursed lead to a prison of the mind, Not a physical incarceration but one of a more abstract design, Just as confining or maybe even more so, No concrete walls just mentally barricaded doors. Your soul being burned in a eternal fire, Seeing no way to achieve your dreams or enhance your desire. Your first realization of this incarceration came as a youth, Realizing your date of birth was the true origin of this social abuse. A day of lit cigars and a joyful praise of the new; Has been 24 hours of tears and 365 days of fears only leading to a corrupt and non-emotional childhood and youth,

What is love? I never had that father son talk, the macho explanation of what true love can do for you. Momma didn’t come in full of smiles and joy, Over my graduation to manhood emotionally hurt about losing her little boy, That’s not my reality, Neither concert or inherently. All my life I’ve paced the floor, In this mental confinement looking through those glass doors. Casting my wishes into space, Trying to obtain my amazing grace, To break this confinement the way I have not yet realized,

Without proper food and water to feed the spirit the soul will die, God’s love and empathy can be my empowerment, to break down the walls of my confinement.

-In order to define success, you must first define your effort. -Author Eric McNeil-

Who Am I

I am the most serious of choices. The very moment decisions are made, indecisions opposite reality, defining a lost yet detailed narrative. I am the ability to preserver any of life’s odds. I am ever-evolving! I define the existence of my reality! I am ever evolving!

Chapter 2 SAFE MODE

A Safe Mode, Staying Average Forgoing Excellence Making Our Destiny Elusive, is not a failed life by any means. It would be better classified as a “what if life.” What if I would have become a doctor? What if I would have become a lawyer? What if I wrote that great American novel? The truth about humanity is we were blessed with this innate ability for survival. It’s that same blessing that sometimes leads the mind to hinder progress because of perceived pain.

-Pain is a temporary inconvenience of state. Harnessing that state will propel you from good to new levels of great. –Author Eric McNeil-

The path to success is not a road paved with common sense; it can and most often is a very daunting endeavor. This can make success seem insurmountable; however success is not a quest of impossibility. Let me give you an example.

We are standing in front of a door to a room. Once the door opens you see a large empty area with another door on the wall furthest away. Before you enter, I cover the floor with the slipperiest substance known to man. The entire floor is covered, with the exception of one area in front of an exit door on the other side of the room. If you walk across that floor and out the exit door on the other side I guarantee you will immediately walk into the life of your dreams. Whatever it may be. What would you do?

Personally, I believe you will fight. Fight tooth and nail to walk across that floor and out that door, and more than willing to wade through the potential hell to get there. If you fall I imagine you would quickly try to get right back up each and every time till you triumphantly walk through the door on the other side.

We make success more challenging by setting safe goals. This causes you to embrace a life that was never meant for you. I always hear the phrase, “You only get one life” and personally I feel the phrase is extremely limiting. Some may embrace life’s possibilities and seize every moment, however many will allow fear, not danger, to define their limits creating a life built on living in the safe mode. Everyday has the potential to birth a much different reality than the day before. That is 365 lives! Why would you ever limit your success to just one chance?

-Bravery shifts the mind to a forward focus letting inhibitions like fear, fearlessly fall to their demise! -Author Eric McNeil-

SAFE MODE Staying Average Forgoing Excellence Making Our Destiny Elusive, is not a choice. It is human survival at its finest and most basic instinct. Mentally we condition ourselves to accept the issues of our lives as “just cause” for why success is an impossibility. Though situations or obstacles may increase the improbability of success, the wrongly applied direction of your effort is 99% of what truly makes it an impossibility.

Success

If I tried I could, But I’ll assume I can’t. I didn’t succeed, Or did I succeed? What goal was I really trying to reach? Was it the success of what I thought I couldn’t achieve, Or was it in my failure that I really achieved my true goal of success? You know the one that goes if I tried I could but I’ll assume I can’t, So I’ll save myself the frustration and aggravation of my ultimate failure, But If I assume I can’t and I don’t

Wouldn’t my failure really be my success? With my predetermined goal being failure, Not achieving is the same as achieving, Then why do I feel defeated, beaten down, and conquered. I’ve self-fulfilled my own predetermined prophecy, I’ve achieved the pinnacle of my own predetermined success. Now I should be overjoyed! Excited! Ecstatic! I mean how many people can say they’ve achieved their predetermined goal without even breaking a sweat. I am successful at being!

Many of us work hard for the money we earn, as if the money, will fix everything. Remember this world is filled with unhappy millionaires, which makes a very strong case towards disproving the myth that money creates happiness. Money allows you moments of happiness, however great those moments may be. Our reality is those moments takes more from you than they give. Money is one of the main culprits of why we accept the SAFE MODE as life.

City Blues

Streets lined with pollution. Homeless faces filled with pity. Is there a chance we’ll find a solution? To end the gunshots, The sirens, The blues of the city. Contagious are its dangers, its pitfalls most people can’t avoid, We need to recall that baby in the manger. That special blessing, we got from our good Lord.

Now you may be thinking; How in the hell is money a culprit? “The more I have the more I can afford” and if you’re thinking in that manner, you are indeed potentially correct.  However, if you are using that logic you also have to consider the abundance of money can create a false sense of safety. This financial change in circumstance has the potential to derail your Hunter Mode Mentality. The Hunter Mode Mentality describes your limitless drive. Every time you have witnessed amazing happening you are witnessing the hunter mode mentality working. Great examples of this mindset can be found in the performance of: Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, before the divorce Tiger Woods, and of course Queen Serena Williams. Each of the aforementioned will, if not currently, be in their chosen sports HOF. I will talk more about the hunter mode mentality later.

Circumstance usually dictates your actions. Fear most often falls into the extreme column and the factors influencing your fear most often are the driving force fueling your safe approach. This approach has you more focused on making money then creating a future. Money creates the illusions of pleasure the world gets to witness and desire, while masking its true cost. Cost being any of the following: time, life, family, self-esteem, respect, nerves etc.….

Many of us are working for the money, which is fine, yet no matter how much is earned, it does not provide you the expected sense of accomplishment. Why?

Pondering Life

When I sit and think about my life I see the definition of the word strife, there is one continuous question that keeps arising from my failed expectations. If God truly loves me then where is my promised salvation? I don’t know how or why I was chosen to go through the things I go through, or why I put those who love me through the trials and tribulations I do.

In my heart love is all I feel, however that’s masked by an outward façade that others see feel and interpret as real, I can only imagine what my future holds, Only God knows the extent of my true future role, the physical side of me clouds my thoughts day in and day out, Leaving the possibility of there being a spiritual side to me in doubt.

How can I effectively change my turmoil? Put my life in perspective and regain my grasp on morals. Take away the corruption that eats away at my soul, Extinguish the voice in my head contradicting any positive goals, Sometimes I wonder just how valuable my life really is, I bring more pain than happiness to the lives of those I really love so what purpose is there to live? What in me causes me to be the way that I am? It’s as if I see things from a different perspective than the rest of humanity does.

Everyone sees in black and white but I see in white and black, does that make my perspective distorted my views confused? Maybe that’s where I go wrong. Maybe I should conform and join what is considered the norm? Would that change bring an end to my life of strife? Would that make my actions be considered right? There is no foreseeable way for that to ever be, Because the moment I start to act like them they would all start acting like me.

Then once again I would be outside the circle of life trying to find a way to get in, Trying to figure out which path I must take to get to the salvation that lies at the end, The harder I push for that promised bliss. The more my life resembles that great abyss.

Safe Mode (Staying Average Forgoing Excellence Making Our Destiny Elusive) embraces fear and is more paralyzing than actual danger. We live in a world filled with danger, however the same potential for danger is present whether you embrace the destiny of your life or not. In fact, your destiny is filled with so much positive synergy you actually put your life on a more favorable course just by walking the life you were meant.

-When I look at the world I see hope, prosperity, compassion, and a purposeful existence. -Author Eric McNeil-

Eden

Let the choir sing and let the bells continue to ring, for somewhere in heaven an Angel has just received his wings, oh what a wonderful place it must be, being totally surrounded by love peace and true spiritual harmony,

To walk on the clouds and feel the freedom of flight, to be blessed everyday with the security of all God’s might, being empowered with those angelic traits, totally free of life's earthly mistakes, living in a true Garden of Eden, Paradise Lost, Able to enjoy the life after without worry of a cost.

I see beautiful gardens with flowers in full bloom, the sun looking over things during the day and at night the guardian being the moon.

Seeing trees bearing fruits in tremendous amounts, Beautiful birds filling the sky and letting songs of joy ring out, A summer time day mixed with a springtime breeze, A place where the worst of attitudes would be pleased

Allow your mind to see life's river as it flows, masterfully maneuvering all in its way! Open your eyes and remember your why! Greatness is waiting!

-One of the most courageous things you can ever do, in life, is aggressively attack your future! Your effort will be the most defining aspect of your future. -Author Eric McNeil-
