Quotes

Whatever you don’t feel now, will come back to haunt you.”

The process of feeling your emotions makes you more humane and more energized.”

A lot of body ills are just deeply stuffed emotions.”

Introduction:

Moving into the realm of feelings is pretty scary for most people, me included. However, it is a necessary journey for a full and satisfying life. My tendency in this, and perhaps yours, is to ignore, push down, and blatantly disregard most emotions. I consider a few of them to be acceptable and allow them to emerge, while others are deeply shunned when they show up. With life experience, I have come to see ALL of them as friends that help me to process and make sense of what I am experiencing. Through them I can acknowledge who I am in the moment, with the awareness I have in that moment. My emotions, your emotions are not who we are; they are an important part of us that we need to own, fully feel, and appreciate.

My intension for these poems is that you will become more aware of and more comfortable with your feelings; my hope is that you will allow yourself to feel them, release them, and find new energy for life in the process.

Invite Anger to Tea

Anger, come to tea,

Come to teach me.

Bring desire, energy, life

Sit with me awhile

Converse and make me smile

Talk of passion, beginning action

Anger, come to tea,

Out of the dark and fully me

The Elephant

Is it anger?

Disappointment?

Sadness or despair?

Is it nervous, tense?

Frightened, worried?

Or do you care?

What is the name?

Tell me if you dare

Or shall we play this game

Of ignoring what is there

As we each sit

Stoically in a chair

Or shall we just name

The elephant
